Meet Brittany L. Higdon, M.Ed
Hi, I’m Brittany L. Higdon, founder of Cherry Blossom Sitters and Higdon Learning Solutions.
I’m originally from Cleveland, Ohio, but I’ve called DC home since 2008.
I grew up in a family of restaurateurs, where I learned the importance of trust, great service, and making people feel at home.
With 15 years of teaching experience in the area, I’ve seen firsthand how many families miss out on date nights—not because they don’t want to, but because they lack nearby family and don’t feel safe leaving their children with strangers. I’m here to put parents’ minds at ease so they can enjoy worry-free time away, which is why I hire only about 10% of the sitters who apply—I take only the very best.
I love connecting people, and nothing makes me happier than matching families in DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland with wonderful, reliable sitters you can truly count on.

Every sitter in our network goes through a thorough screening process and must meet the following requirements:
Be at least 18 years old
Have dependable personal transportation
Bring prior childcare experience
Pass a clean background and driving record check
Hold current CPR certification
Complete a face‑to‑face interview with our team
Attend an orientation covering our standards and expectations
